25 years in business, plus holistic health coaching: Gülcan Elmas-Brandes brings the two together, for more clarity at work and more wellbeing day to day.
You carry responsibility: for your company, for other people, for your family. But when is it actually about you?
This is exactly where my coaching begins. It is not about achieving even more, but about finding out what truly fits you and how you can shape your life and your business consciously.
Teams that resolve tension early, share roles clearly and stay healthy through the working day.
For women entrepreneurs, especially single mothers, whose roles overlap every day.
For anyone looking for their own path, professionally and personally.
More than 25 years in financial controlling, client consulting and project management, including as an auditor: I know the numbers and the people behind them.
Business, health and inner attitude are connected. I look at the person and their surroundings as a whole.
Mother, self-employed, living consciously and close to nature: I know the tension between responsibility and your own needs from experience.
Systemic family and structural constellations shaped my eye for patterns and hidden dynamics. I also listen for what becomes visible between the lines.
Raised with Turkish and German culture, lived in Turkey, Germany and England: I bring a fine sense for different worlds.
No template: every programme can be adapted in content and timing to your concern.
“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.”
I am a conscious, nature-loving person and the mother of a wonderful son. For me this is not a philosophy that only sounds good on a website, but an attitude I live every day and bring into my work.
For more than 25 years I worked in financial controlling, client consulting and project management, nationally and internationally, including as an auditor. Four of those years I lived and worked in London, among other things as a portfolio analyst at an ethical bank. For over 30 years I have also been engaged in personal development, from systemic constellations to shamanic and spiritual seminar work.
I grew up with two cultures and have lived in Turkey, Germany and England.
Not by a fixed concept, but in a way that fits you, your values and your life.

This is what I call my way of working: a practice of mindfulness, breath and awareness work, complemented by sensory impulses. At the centre is awareness: recognising old patterns that hold you back more than they carry you, and letting go of what no longer fits. The aim is more lightness, a finer sense of your own body and the willingness to take responsibility for your own life, your surroundings and the environment.

“Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
Note: Awareness Coaching is a values-based, experience-oriented method. It is not a physically measurable frequency therapy, no substitute for medical, psychotherapeutic or naturopathic treatment, and makes no diagnoses. Where "frequency" is mentioned here, it refers to your own inner stance. If you have health complaints, please consult your doctor.
60 or 90 minutes, online, on a walk (Walk & Talk) or in person. Depending on what you need: mindfulness and breathwork, essential oils, frequency music or binaural beats.
Details →Six sessions over roughly ten to twelve weeks – for change that lasts, rather than single impulses.
Details →Available as a full-day format or an ongoing series, detailed schedules on request. All topics also work as 1:1 coaching. All formats are also available online on request.
Structure, leadership and energy for entrepreneurs, especially single-parent business owners.
Details →A corporate workshop on workplace health. Practical, no heavy theory, usable the next day.
Details →Conflict resolution within the team and ongoing team reflection, as a day workshop or an ongoing session series.
Details →Personal support as a single session or coaching package: online, on a walk or in person.
Details →Business & Balance is for women entrepreneurs who want to regain clarity, structure and energy in their professional and personal lives, with a special focus on single-parent entrepreneurs whose roles overlap constantly in everyday life.
The program combines three levels: self-leadership and clarity about values and priorities, recognizing and resolving limiting patterns and beliefs, and concrete business structure and boundaries in daily life. Female empowerment and exchange with other entrepreneurs in a similar situation complete it.
A note: Business & Balance is coaching and training. It does not replace therapy, medical or psychotherapeutic treatment, or legal or tax advice. All exercises are voluntary; each participant decides for herself how far to engage.

Real change takes time and repetition. In six weekly sessions we deepen the themes of the day workshop, with small tasks for everyday life between sessions and exchange within the group. The program can also be booked on its own and adapted in content and timing.
The detailed schedule with the topics of each week is available on request.
“Health in Everyday Business” is a corporate health workshop for companies and teams: practical, immediately applicable, without heavy theory. The aim is to bring health-promoting behavior into the working day in a way that lasts: small, concrete impulses instead of a large program.
The format covers four core areas: movement, nutrition, stress regulation and mental health. Every module ends with an exercise or routine that can be applied right at the workplace.
A note: the workshop is health promotion and training. It does not replace medical, psychotherapeutic or other healthcare treatment, does not provide diagnoses and does not offer individual nutrition therapy. All exercises are voluntary; each person decides how far to take part.
The half day is the basic format for teams of any size, at your company or in an external room. On request it can be extended to a full day. The program can be adapted in content and timing.

Conflict clarification and team reflection are for teams and companies that want more clarity in how they work together, whether the issue is a specific conflict or the ongoing reflection of everyday work. Both formats draw on my systemic training and more than 25 years of experience in project management, client consulting and teamwork, both nationally and internationally.
Conflict clarification is about making the actual needs of everyone involved visible behind entrenched positions and finding a solution together that lasts. Team reflection offers a protected space to regularly reflect on professional topics, collaboration and roles, before small tensions turn into bigger conflicts.
“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.”
A note: conflict clarification and team reflection are coaching and facilitation formats. They do not replace mediation within the meaning of the German Mediation Act, supervision by trained supervisors, legal advice or legally binding dispute resolution. Participation is voluntary, agreements are reached jointly and, unless agreed otherwise, are not legally binding. Both formats are impartial, confidential and open-ended in outcome. The people involved, or the company, are responsible for decisions and agreements.
The day workshop suits teams with a specific, acute conflict. The aim is to move from entrenched positions to agreements everyone supports, within a single day. The program can be adapted in content and timing to your team and your concern.
| 10:00 am–10:30 am | Arriving & clarifying the assignment |
| 10:30 am–11:30 am | Conflict map |

The reflection series suits teams that want to reflect on and strengthen their collaboration continuously, rather than acting only once a conflict has escalated. The monthly sessions cover current topics from everyday work, recognized patterns and the targeted development of collaboration. Here too, the program can be adapted in content and timing.
The detailed schedule with the topics of the individual sessions is available on request.
In one-to-one coaching I personally support you in seeing connections, gaining new perspectives and finding your own path, professionally and personally. The focus is entirely yours: clarity in business, holistic health in everyday life or deeper awareness work. Topics that fit no program have room here too.
The introductory call (20 minutes) is free and non-binding. Sessions take place online by video, as a Walk & Talk (a conversation while walking outdoors, weather permitting) or in person in a room booked by arrangement. Everything you share with me stays confidential.
A note: one-to-one coaching is coaching. It does not replace medical, psychotherapeutic or naturopathic treatment and makes no diagnoses. All exercises are voluntary; you decide at any time how far you wish to go.
A single session suits trying it out, an acute topic or as a starting point. Which methods I use, we decide together depending on your concern and how you feel that day. The concept can be adapted to you in content and timing.
| 0–10 min | Arriving |
| 10–20 min | Concern & focus |
| 20–45 min | Working on the topic |
| 45–55 min | Integration |
| 55–60 min | Transfer & closing |
With 90 minutes the structure stays the same and the individual phases are longer. The detailed schedule with the content is available on request.
Real change takes time and repetition. The package consists of six sessions, usually two weeks apart. Between appointments, a personal roadmap with small steps for everyday life accompanies you. The package can be adapted in content and timing.
| Session 1 | Starting point & goals |
| Session 2 | Clarity |
| Session 3 | Recognizing patterns |
| Session 4 | Trying something new |
| Session 5 | Consolidating |
| Session 6 | Anchoring & closing |

There is by now quite a bit of research on the effects of meditation and mindfulness: regular mindfulness practice measurably changes brain regions responsible for emotion regulation and stress processing (Hölzel et al., 2011; Lazar et al., 2005). A meta-analysis in JAMA Internal Medicine found positive effects on stress, anxiety and psychological wellbeing (Goyal et al., 2014). There are also first indications at the genetic level: studies found that meditation and related practices go along with changes in the activity of genes involved in inflammation and the stress response (Kaliman et al., 2014; Buric et al., 2017).
Self-compassion has been studied a lot too, with several thousand scientific papers by now. One study from UC Berkeley stood out to me: we don't have to be hard on ourselves to move forward. When we meet our mistakes with empathy, we strengthen our own motivation to do better next time. Growth doesn't need a heavy hand, but an understanding heart (Breines & Chen, 2012).
